Each quarter we nominate 5-6 students from our class who have been leaders or excellent role models in our classroom! These are our first quarter award winners!
We have been working hard this quarter to achieve goals that we set for ourselves on the 5th day of school!
We had so much fun on our field trip to the farmer's market! We enjoyed doing our scavenger hunts and trying all kinds of food but the bus ride might have been our favorite part!
We had a small taste test as part of our five senses explorations during science. We tried lemons and dark chocolate and had some pretty silly reactions!
We combined our science explorations with our Positivity Project activities this week. We have been talking about looking at situations from different perspectives and attempting to understand how other people experience the world. We have also been talking about our five senses and how they help us engage with the world around us. For this activity we got to experience a small taste of what life would be like without our sense of sight. These pictures are the result of our blindfold painting experiment.
We have been working hard to learn the names of all of our classmates. We did our best to draw a partner and get to know some of their favorite things. We will keep working hard to get to know more about everyone in the class!
This week we have been working on sorting objects during math. We used counting bears, shapes, pom poms, and buttons to work on identifying attributes and making groups. We also talked about how each object could be sorted into multiple groups and made lists of different attributes we use to sort objects. We have been working so hard to learn about all of our friends in Letterland! What a great way to celebrate all of our hard work! We had so much fun parading through the school in our Letterland Costumes while we were cheered on by all of the other Douglas students! |
