We have been working so hard to learn about all of our friends in Letterland! What a great way to celebrate all of our hard work! We had so much fun parading through the school in our Letterland Costumes while we were cheered on by all of the other Douglas students!

Our in-school science field trip was so much fun! A local scientist came and helped us perform some really cool experiments in the classroom. We made a cloud using dry ice and water and watched it fill the classroom. We also made a little cloud that we were able to touch and taste! It was very interesting to hear how some friends described the taste of a cloud! Next we learned about lightning. We all had the chance to touch the lightning ball and then we created a lightning storm in a bottle. Then we had the chance to make snow to play with and take home. Last we made tornados using bottles and colored water! Such a fun and educational experience!
Hip Hip Hooray! We made it to the 100th Day! We had a really fun day celebrating all we have learned so far this year! We made crazy hats, made walls with 100 cups, we flipped coins 100 times and made lots of silly 100 predictions.
As the days and weeks go by the whole class is still working towards their personal goals and making great progress! Here are a few more students who have met their goals this quarter!
The last week of our shape unit focused on composing other shapes and objects out of the shapes that we had learned about. We spent a day creating something with the pattern block shapes and then used paper cut outs to glue our ideas on to paper for others to recreate. See if you can guess what some of these creations are!
Here are our Quarter 2 Award winners! These students are hard working and bring a positive attitude to the classroom every day!
