This week we were learning about our sense of touch. We were also reading and talking about The Three Little Pigs. To combine these two topics we spent the week exploring how items from the story would feel to touch. We first talked about the pig and the wolf. As a class we decided that the pig would feel smooth and the wolf would feel soft. Then we looked at the three different types of houses made by the pigs. We decided that the house of straw would feel bumpy. The house of sticks would feel sharp and hard. The house of bricks would feel rough and scratchy. We used different materials to recreate these sensations on paper including tissue paper, felt, sand paper, straw, cardboard and popsicle sticks.

Thank you so much to those of you who donated play dough to our classroom!! Everybody loves using play dough to make letters and words! We also use puzzles, whiteboards, magnets and many other materials to study our words and letters!
